Clark Griswold has got nothing on these people

Candy Lights
My friend Derek and I went to Baltimore for dinner last night, just to get out of town for a few hours. After our meal we drove around the city in his new car, checking out a few different neighborhoods. We found this particular street that was awash in Christmas lights.
Holiday bling covered every inch of these homes, on both sides of the street. It was brilliant. I can only imagine the pressure the residents of this street must feel this time of year. There is probably the "I must outdo all of my neighbors" faction, and the "Oh man, this is crazy" faction. I was in the "This is the coolest thing ever!" visitor faction.
O Town A
This last house, that we are standing in front of, even allowed you to go on their porch for a closer look at all the decorations. There was a guest book. Oh yes, a guest book. If I put this much effort into decorating I would have a guest book too.

As soon as we left this street, Derek needed to pull over and get out of the car for a minute. Right after we stopped a very nice older couple also stopped to see if we needed directions. They said they saw our out of state plates, and were very nice to offer help (clearly they didn't know the map nazi was riding shotgun). The point is, the man driving had a full white beard, and was wearing a Santa hat. It was like Santa himself stopped to see if we needed directions.

After last night it finally feels like Christmas.

There are a few more pictures over on flickr.
